| CZ STONES |
The best way I have found to clean debris, smudges and any film that may arise from dirt, lotions, body oils, detergents, make-up, etc... is to immerse in rubbing alcohol for a few seconds - then rinse under warm water and thoroughly dry the piece of jewelry before storing OR wearing jewelry. For those hard to reach places a soft used toothbrush can be used as well. ALWAYS make sure the stones are THOROUGHLY dry before placing back in your jewelry box for safe keeping. |
Jewelry stamped "925" for Solid Sterling Silver | Any of our jewelry that is stamped "925" without a white gold rhodiumed finish - can be immersed in Silver Cleaner with caution .... always read the directions first on the label so as not to damage your jewelry. Real gemstones can be damaged by using Silver Cleaner ... so once again , check to see that your "stone" is okay to be immersed in the cleaner you have on hand. Using a soft toothbrush to get into any crevices where food or other matter may have found it's way in can be used as well - ALWAYS rinse under warm water to remove any residue of the CLEANER and make sure to dry jewelry VERY WELL ... using a blow dryer if needed and/or a soft clean cloth before wearing or storing your jewelry. Using a Sunshine Cloth or Silver Polishing Cloth is really "jujugems" favorite to use on Silver ... since it will never damage your jewelry .... no matter "How Hard" you rub! Takes a bit of elbow grease but it is well worth it in the end. We do carry these Cloths for your convenience at only $2 a cloth - if you'd like to purchase one .... they are great on any kind or Silver, Costume Jewelry, Gold, and cubic zirconia stones. Any of our jewelry that is stamped "925" for solid sterling silver and is layered with 14kt, 18kt or 24kt yellow gold (Gold Vermeil as they call it - gold over a solid base of sterling silver) can be immersed in Silver Cleaner with caution as well.... always read the directions first on the label so as not to damage your jewelry. Real gemstones can be damaged by using Silver Cleaner ... so once again , check to see that your "stone" is okay to be immersed in the cleaner you have on hand. These pieces are easy to care for ... since they are made with a Solid Sterling Silver base. |
| ~Why did my Finger/Wrist/Neck Turn Green?~ |
|
Some people have very acidic body chemistry's and can only wear pure metals .... 24kt gold! Almost any kind of jewelry has some sort of nickel in it and many also have copper in it .... 14kt white gold on up, 925 sterling silver, and other plated costume jewelry .... this can be the cause often times for this kind of "chemical reaction" - which is actually an Allergic Reaction ... also if a piece of jewelry is coated with a protective finishing of some sort found mostly in Costume Jewelry .... this can be the "other" culprit. Research thru the medical field of dermatology has found that only 6 out of 100 people have this kind of sensitivity.... 6% ... so it really is very very low a percentile ... for those of you that have it .... I know how frustrating it can be. Often times coating the jewelry with clear nail polish and thoroughly drying the item overnight - can help to alleviate this frustrating circumstance that can arise.... and allow the user to enjoy that special piece of jewelry without getting a green finger, neck or wrist mark. |
